Container Reefer Replacement Planning
How to plan refrigerated container unit replacement around power, panel access, refrigerant, and terminal requirements.
Confirm the container use case
A container used for stationary cold storage, port movement, or temporary overflow may need a different replacement plan than an intermodal container that moves through terminals.
Inspect the frame and panels first
The unit replacement should not hide damaged panels, corroded mounting points, or poor door seals. Repairing the box first protects the new refrigeration equipment.
Coordinate power and access
Container reefers depend on safe power, clear panel access, and room for technicians to work. Those details should be verified before a replacement is scheduled.
