Reefer Van Insulation and Airflow
What fleets should inspect before adding a van refrigeration system or replacing an aging van reefer unit.
The van body is part of the system
A van reefer install depends on insulation, door seals, flooring, and roof penetrations as much as the unit itself. A clean interior build helps protect food, floral, lab, and pharmaceutical cargo.
Small cargo areas still need return air
Drivers often load vans tightly. The installation plan should leave return-air space and protect the evaporator from blocked airflow, damaged guards, and product contact.
Plan service access before routing lines
Line routing, controller placement, and drain paths should be serviceable after the van is loaded with racks, partitions, or last-mile delivery equipment.
